The sphinx is not just huge statue from body of lion and human head and if you research about more statue like that you will not that except some of small statues and his place near to the Pyramids

It said the pharaohs built it to protect the tombs of the kings within these Pyramids plus some of small temples around the sphinx

Many magic tales took about the sphinx like within sphinx there is a secret book or books have the universe secrets and sciences the pharaohs knew it from another creatures or there is hidden crypt between the sphinx and the Great Pyramid for unknown reason and still till now they can't find this crypt
